Diageo out of Absolut auction after Ketel One buy February 6th, 2008

Diageo, the world’s biggest alcoholic drinks group, has pulled out of the $6 billion-plus (3 billion pound-plus) auction for Swedish vodka Absolut after buying a half stake in fast-growing Dutch rival Ketel One.
