Acquiring Sports Tickets While Traveling

I’m a sucker for sports.  I love live sports – the atmosphere, the action, the excitement and the food!!  I travel a great deal and when I do I like to check out in advance what shows will be on in the location I am visiting.

In the past I use to arrive and then spend a lot of time and energy trying to get my hands on tickets.  If the event was sold out I would often search around for a scalper and then pay an exorbitant price to get a ticket.

Now I buy my tickets online.  It is so much easier and convenient.  I can do a search for sports tickets and usually find what I’m looking for.  On my last trip I picked up baseball tickets and football tickets.  As well as the convenience of ordering online the delivery was super fast.

I plan to continue buying sports tickets online before I head on my trips.  This means that I will know exactly what I am going to do when I get there and so avoiding the last minute rush and potential panic of trying to get tickets at the last moment.

Search Helps Couple Upgrade Car and Truck

My husband and I decided to upgrade our automobiles a little and we did a search for, “cars big rims,” to see what we could find. We found a site for Performance Plus Tires. We were impressed with the amount of stock they had.

We decided that we would get what we needed first and then get what we wanted later. So we got a car tire and a truck wheel. Those two things alone made our rides look better. Then we decided to take a road trip to see how we felt about our new purchases. We ended up loving them.

We decided to not wait to upgrade in the future. It was affordable and it keeps us happy with what we have.

Maps Help You Get Around Route 66

This summer my brother plans to backpack around the United States. I didn’t want him to get lost so I got him a US printable map. I also got him several maps of Texas and a couple of maps of California. He told me that he plans on spending several weeks in Austin and a few weeks in San Francisco.

I told him that he should drive around the US and follow route 66. That way he would not have to hitch-hike and he could see more of the country. It’s a historic route that starts in Chicago and end in California.

There are classic grills and a lot of specialty shops that cater to the route 66 crowd. I told him that not only would he get to see a ton of the country, it’s historical too. He told me that he would consider it if he could stop in Austin.

Updating Skills: One Way to Recession-Proof Job

I needed a corporate team building program to help keep my employees on the right track. This recession has them scared and frankly, I don’t blame them. One way to ensure that you keep your job during times like this is by updating your training. I enrolled all of my people in organizational development programs and leadership training.

It was hard to have a third of the office out at a time but we managed. I told of them to display their new skills without being obnoxious. I knew this would be difficult for a few of them but I wanted them to know that I and my colleagues would be watching them.

This training turned out to be great. I really saw my employees’ skills on display and it showed through to everything. Our customers loved it and sales increased. I think I’ll continue to have training for my team even when the market is good.

French Open Schedule

The perfect weather filling the days on a regular basis signals to me that the French Open is upon us. This world-renowned tennis tournament begins on March 28 and ends with the men’s finals on June 8. I’m looking forward to watching the intense men’s finals with ’06 and ’07 French Open winner Rafael Nadal competing against ’06 and ’07 runner-up Roger Federer. The French Open schedule is always full of exciting matches, sure to keep you on your toes.

The rivalry between these two is always interesting to watch play out through the severe competition that decides, the “King of Clay.” The red clay  surface at the Roland Garros tounament is less than optimun for many players and it is always interesting to see who shines and who goes home with a hurt ego.

I’m looking forward to getting out to play tennis since it’s sunny, not too hot and not too cold. This time of year makes me want to wake up early to go play a set or two. It also makes me ready to watch the French Open with a great schedule for 2008.

5 Reasons for Going on Hormones

Dr. Bernadine Healy can’t even count the number of women who’ve complained to her about how tough it is to make the decision about hormone replacement therapy.

“Women say, ‘Oh it used to be so simple. Now it’s so complex,’” says Healy, a cardiologist and former director of the National Institutes of Health. “And I tell them, ‘Yes, it used to be so simple because it was wrong.’”

This is what she means: Before 2002, it was practically standard operating procedure to put women on synthetic hormones as soon as they reached menopause. (“We were putting them in the drinking water,” jokes Healy.).

But that turned out to be not such a great idea. A study in 2002 found that hormone replacement therapy, or HRT, made women more vulnerable to heart attacks, strokes, breast cancer and blood clots. In droves, doctors yanked their patients off the hormones.  Read more
